Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Organization Mission:
The CAT Board oversees major large-scale events, small scale events, traditions and programs on the Bates campus designed to meet the eclectic interests of Bates students and create a lively, inclusive community. The CAT Board oversees and plans events over the course of the academic year.

Purpose:
To coordinate student activities, entertainment and events in conjunction with Office of Campus Life and other organizations to put on the highest, fullest level of programming for the college, and meet and reflect the eclectic interests of the Bates students body and community.

The CAT Marketing Coordinators coordinate all marketing needs for CAT related events and activities. This includes producing said marketing for print, digital signage, and web publication.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


Work closely with other members of CAT to produce marketing for their related events and programs. Create graphic designs, such as posters, using Canva, Photoshop, or another editing software. Produce marketing no later than one week prior to the date of the event or program to allow for appropriate time to promote it. Oversee all CAT social media (Facebook, Instagram etc). Being a present for part or all of an event OR asking board members to send you photos & videos to document events for social media or the website. Oversee, edit, and consistently update the CAT Website. Depending on staffing needs of particular events, they are expected to assist with physical event set-up and/or tear-down.

Requirements


Should have excellent graphic design and/or social media marketing skills. Must be organized, responsible, personable, and enthusiastic about student-led and -driven programming. Must be able and willing to work with a diverse group of students and staff. Must be able to respond to office communications in a timely manner (no more than 24 hours except under special circumstances). Should have an exceptional ability to multitask and engage in time management. Must be able to adhere to established project deadlines. Should have an awareness of Bates social life, and a vested interest in events and programming. Should have experience working with peers in a group project setting.

Reporting


Reports to the CAT Managers & the Coordinator for Campus Life Programming, works closely with other members of CAT and other campus partners as appropriate.
