Barry Nemett, chair of the Painting Department at the Maryland Institute College of Art, will speak about his work in conjunction with his exhibition Barry Nemett: Drawings from Italy in the Museum of Art. Nemett has received numerous awards, including two from the Alfred and Trafford Klots Residency Program to paint in Brittany, France, and a Ford Foundation grant to support his work in Italy.
In addition to visual works, Nemett has penned a novel, a textbook, as well as his most recent collection of writings and art: Paintings, Poems, and Passages, which will be available for signing in the Museum of Art immediately following the lecture.
