Introducing the New Bates Engage – A Critical Tool to Help You Manage Your Club or Organization

Come learn how to leverage the new Bates Engage to work for your club or organization! This workshop will take you through the basic features of Bates Engage, including updating your group profile, creating a website, the built-in email builder, and managing your budget.

“Oops, I F***ed Up!” Navigating the Aftermath of Personally Perpetuating Oppression
Facilitated by National Award-Winning Survivor Advocate Wanda Swan
All club officers and Campus Life student managers required to attend.
We all have those moments – we said something, did something, or otherwise behaved racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. Think about what happened. What did you do? Did you handle it in a way that you are proud of, and that helped to address the harm that you caused? Or did you sweep it under the proverbial rug, hope no one noticed, or that it would simply be forgotten about over time? Come learn about how to navigate the aftermath of personally perpetuating oppression – acknowledge the harm you caused, make amends, learn from the situation, and move forward.
This is part of the Bates Leads series of workshops and serves to deepen attendees’ understanding of Congruence and Controversy.
Monday, January 24 – 12:00 to 1:00pm in Commons 221/222 and 4:15 to 5:15pm – Zoom (check Google Calendar for link)
Workshop on Common Purpose
Mandatory prerequisite to Constitution Review Workshop.
At least one club officer and one Campus Life student manager from each area required to attend.
What is Common Purpose? Do you even have one? How does it relate to your club or organization? And how do you stay focused on it in times of stress or high activity? Come learn and engage with this crucial Bates Leads value! Please note this is a prerequisite to the 2/9 mandatory constitution review work led by the Campus Life Equity & Inclusion Peer Advisors.

Wednesday, February 9 – 7:00 to 8:30pm – Memorial Commons, Chase Hall
Constitution Review and Revision Kick-Off Workshop – Reframing the Constitution as a Document for Equity & Inclusion, and Creating Consistency in Your Processes and Leadership Transition
Facilitated by the Campus Life Equity & Inclusion Peer Advisors
All club officers and Campus Life student managers required to attend.
When was the last time your constitution was relevant to your club or org’s day-to-day operations? If it’s not being referred to on a regular basis, how do you ensure your processes are consistent, fair, and equitable? Learn about the new constitution template that will be required for all BCSG-recognized clubs and Campus Life-supported student organizations come fall 2022. Meet your club or org’s Equity & Inclusion Peer Advisor, who will be helping guide you through the revision process.
There will be additional workshops facilitated by Campus Life and the Campus Life Equity & Inclusion Peer Advisors as the semester progresses; please stay tuned to your inbox for further announcements. Thank you!
