Constitution Format Example
Below is the constitutional format the Budgets & Clubs Board recognizes:
The purpose of your club.
-ARTICLE I: NAME-
Explain your name.
-ARTICLE II: PURPOSE-
The purpose of your club, why it is going to be on the Bates campus, what events it plans on doing, and how it materially concerns an interest that is not yet addressed by an existing club.
-ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP-
How students become members and who the club is open to.
-ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS-
The leadership structure of the club and how members are elected to officer positions. All clubs are required to have a president, vice president, treasurer, and community liaison.
-ARTICLE V: FINANCES-
A proposal for the budget of the club, and why the funds requested are essential to its operation.
-ARTICLE VI: AMENDMENTS-
How amendments to this constitution will be addressed, including ratification (usually 2/3 vote).
