The Academic Affairs Council (AAC) approved the following policy on April 4, 2025:

In the case of a departing faculty member, the AAC will automatically return a line to an academic unit if the date of the faculty member’s departure is fewer than 7 years after position concept leading to that faculty member’s hire was approved. If the departure date is more than 7 years after the date the position concept was approved, the line returns to the pool.
