Film Series

Global Lens

The Global Lens series of international films has been presented by the Museum of Art for several years. Featuring 10 award-winning films, the Global Lens project is designed to promote cross-cultural understanding through cinema. It is produced by the Global Film Initiative, a U.S. nonprofit that supports independent film from Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. The series is presented by organizations across the US including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Smithsonian Institution, Vancouver Latin American Film Festival, San Diego Asian Film Festival, among many others.  This is another Museum of Art programming series that brings the world to Bates and Lewiston-Auburn, with support from by Politics, African-American Studies, and American cultural Studies. In fall 2012, Global Lens screenings take place on Mondays between September 17 and December 3 in Olin 104. All screenings are open to the public and are free.
