Species: Indian Pipe (Monotropa uniflora)

Range: This plant is found in the temperate parts of North America, South America, and Asia.

This plant is white because it lacks chlorophyll.  Unlike most plants, it does not get energy from the sun, but instead steals food from other plants through a connection with their roots.  It is most commonly associated with both pine and beech trees.
