Clifton Daggett Athletic Building

Located at 130 Central Avenue
Built in 1926 and 26,893 square feet

Known to most on campus as Gray Cage, the building is Bates’ second-largest indoor athletic facility. Before the construction of Merrill Gymnasium, the Cage was used for indoor track events and athletic practices. Renovated in 1992, it now houses a large, rubberized, multipurpose surface used for intramural sports, indoor team practices, and large concerts and events.
