Virginia Griscom Nuttall writes: “After retiring from teaching for 30 years, I am now working at Noyes Real Estate as broker in Rangeley, Maine. Golf, kayaking, and skiing fill the extra time.”… As reported in the Shore Line Times, Lou Milardo, head softball coach at Nathan Hale-Ray High School in Connecticut, was named a coach of the year by one of the state’s sportswriters groups. Lou’s teams have won four state Class S championships and eight conference championships, have appeared in eight state title games, and have appeared in the last five consecutive championship games. The honor is another in a long list: Lou has twice been selected Shoreline Conference Coach of the Year (2001, 2004), was the Connecticut High School Coaches Assn. Softball Coach of the Year (1999), a National High School Coach of the Year finalist in 2002, and is a member of the Connecticut Scholastic and Collegiate Softball Hall of Fame and Nathan Hale-Ray High School’s Hall of Fame. Lou was also a longtime mathematics teacher at Hale-Ray. He and Joane live in Cromwell.
