We left southwest Washington March 8, taking Route 1 to San Diego and crossing the country from there to Biloxi, Miss., then north through South Carolina and Tennessee to our summer cabin in northern Wisconsin. This fall we traveled the route of the fall color, which I do not remember from my Bates years.” The Smiths wintered in the Carolinas…. Mary Jane Anderson Sperry writes: “Big year for the Sperrys! I became head of school at Academy of the Pacific, a small middle and high school in Honolulu; daughter Malia earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology; daughter Megan welcomed her master’s degree in environmental engineering and a fourth child; Husband Mark became a certified senior specialist in his real estate work; and we moved house.”
