The Milestone Reunion Intern works throughout the academic year on projects that support Reunion, which takes place each June. Reunion welcomes back alumni to campus to reconnect with friends and strengthen their ties to Bates. This position will work with staff to support class-specific community building efforts, specifically with the 50th Reunion Class.
Bates Reunion Weekend is a signature campus event. Over 1,000 alumni and friends from 14 reunion classes return to campus to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate their Bates experience. Reunion Weekend will be held from June 9-11. The Reunion Videographer will capture all Reunion events and will produce polished videos for event follow-up and future Reunion marketing. This work is an essential communications tool to elevate the Reunion program and increase attendance.

The Alumni Engagement Intern will perform mostly clerical work for the office/programs. Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: • Conduct research projects as assigned • Run errands across campus as requested • Assist with clerical and logistical preparations for Alumni events (such as regional events and Homecoming) • Filing • Photocopying • Scanning • Typing • Mailing • Answering phone calls • On-campus mail delivery • Stationery and office supply inventory maintenance • Other clerical work when requested
The Bates Fund Stewardship Supervisor will be reviewing hand written thank you notes for accuracy and quality. The thank you notes are written by stewardship interns and are sent to the Bates parents and alumni that donate to the Bates Fund. The supervisor will coordinate with stewardship interns. The Bates Fund is the college’s annual fund that supports all areas of Bates life, including financial aid, academic excellence, library resources and student activates. Students who write these notes will be thanking donors on behalf of all Bates students for providing Bates with the monetary aid that makes Bates the place that it is. The Reunion BatesStar Coordinator is responsible for training, scheduling, and supervising Reunion BatesStars, as well as working with the Assistant Coordinator and Annual Giving & Reunion staff to prepare for reunion. They begin working with Annual Giving & Reunion staff in winter semester hiring BatesStars and continue to assist in preparing for the event through Reunion Weekend. Reunion Weekend takes place June 12-14, 2026, and BatesStars are required to be on campus from June 9-14. Reunion BatesStars’ primary responsibilities are to: (1) interact with alumni and serve as positive Bates ambassadors; (2) collaborate with a team of 30 BatesStars under the supervision of 4 student coordinators; and (3) help college staff execute a smooth and memorable weekend.

Being the Bobcat requires participation in various on and off campus events including athletic contest, college functions including Homecoming, Parents and Family Weekend, Reunion, Mt. David Summit, Winter Carnival and March Madness. The Bobcat supports college pride in all appearances and endeavors. The Bobcat Handler accompanies the Bobcat by providing direction and support while foreseeing situations that require directional assistance, communication with fans, and coordinating props.
