Students who need transportation to off-campus sites for community-engaged learning, internships, and volunteer commitments can use one of our three shuttle services (CELS-Lewiston Schools, CELS-Lewiston, and CELS-Auburn). Other Ways to Get Around

If you choose to use a means of transportation other than the shuttle, please bear the following in mind:

• We are close to downtown; you can often walk or bike (especially great with friends!) to your community partnership sites.
• There is a public bus service (known as the Purple Bus) in Lewiston/Auburn; you can find schedules, fares, and route information online at http://www.purplebus.org/public/.
• If you choose to ride in a private vehicle, you assume all risks and insurance liability. Bates automobile insurance covers only Bates-owned and Bates-leased vehicles driven by a Bates-certified driver. For more details, see Information Regarding Travel Off-Campus
