The Biology Department is very pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Larissa Williams as Assistant Professor of Biology to fill the molecular biology position formerly held by Dr. Joe Pelliccia. Dr. Williams  presently holds a post-doctoral position at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and a part time teaching position at Wheaton College in Norton, MA.  With a research background focused on the molecular basis of toxicity in marine systems, Dr. Williams brings exciting new possibilities for elective courses and undergraduate research opportunities to Bates. Dr. Williams will start teaching in January 2013.
