Student Status Definitions

This page will share important housing information in light of the College’s announcement to invite students back onto campus for the fall semester. While not exhaustive, we hope this information will answer some of your housing questions.

On-Campus Student

“On-campus student” is the category for students that are studying on-campus, living in college provided housing, eating in dining facilities, and have access to all on-campus facilities open to students. By living on-campus these students agree to be tested regularly as part of the college testing plan and are accountable for college public health protocols. Because they adhere to the most stringent protocols, these students are eligible for athletics. These students pay the regular single fee and are not eligible for a rebate.

Off-Campus Student

“Off-campus student” is the category for students that are studying on campus, but are living in privately secured housing within daily travel distance of campus. These students may or may not be eating in dining facilities based on their meal plan enrollment and have access to all on-campus facilities open to students. By opting to study on-campus these students agree to be tested regularly as part of the college testing plan and are accountable for college public health protocols. Because they adhere to the most stringent protocols, these students are eligible for athletics. These students are eligible for a rebate of  $2,300 board per semester. If they choose to be off the meal plan an additional $2,300 per semester rebate will be added for meals.

Traditional Off-Campus: These are seniors, who are granted permission to live off-campus by an application process. This is not permitted for other class years.

Commuting Student: This sub-category is open to all student years, but must live at the listed primary address of parent/guardian.

Remote Student

“Remote student” is the category for students that are not studying on campus. These students live in privately secured housing away from campus and are not able to eat in dining facilities. These students do not have access to any on-campus facilities open to students. By being distant from campus, these are not part of the college testing plan and are not accountable for college public health protocols. As they do not adhere to these protocols, these students are ineligible for athletics. These students are eligible for a rebate of $7,353 for the fall semester and $7,721 for the winter semester.
