AESOP 2021 Packing Lists

All Trips:

  • 2 32 fl. oz. water bottles
  • Close-toed shoes, unless otherwise noted
  • Sun protection
    • Hat, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, etc.
  • **Raincoat, in the event of inclement weather**

Hiking – Franconia, Tumbledown, Mt. Blue, Camden Hills, Animal/NatureSOP

  • Hiking boots (MUST be broken in!)
  • Bugspray
  • Day pack
  • Raincoat
  • Light layer, in case of cold weather
  • Beach Chillin

    • Swimsuit
    • Set of (dry) clothes to change into
    • Beach towel
    • Sunglasses and/or a brimmed hat
    • Flip-flops
    • Sun protection
      • Hat, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, etc.

    Sea Kayaking

    • Footwear that you don’t mind getting wet. Water shoes or sturdy sandals are ideal. 
    • Extra layer to keep you warm. It’s often cooler on the water than on land, so it’s smart to have a fleece or light jacket even on sweltering hot days. It’s also best to wear synthetic materials (not cotton) that will keep you warm even when wet.
    • Sun protection
      • Hat, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, etc.
    • Anything else you’d like to have with you (camera, snack, gloves, etc). Portland Paddle/Midcoast Kayak will provide a dry bag.

    Portland/City Exploring

    • Sun protection
      • Hat, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, etc.
    • Comfortable shoes to walk around the city in
    • Daypack, if you are bringing lots of food/water or other supplies

    Farming

    • Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
    • Close-toed shoes and sturdy footwear

    Biking

    • A comfortable shirt and shorts (polyester is recommended)
    • Sneakers

    Rock Climbing

    • A comfortable shirt and shorts/pants (flexible, form-fitting material is recommended)
    • Dress in layers that are easy to change
    • Sneakers w/socks that are comfortable for walking
    • Sun protection
      • Hat, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, etc.

    Habitat

    • Clothes that you do not mind dirtying, even permanently. 
    • Close-toed shoes that you do not mind dirtying
    • Sun protection/ hat/sunglasses/etc
    • Water bottle

    Community Engagement/LA

    • Sun protection
      • Hat, Sunglasses, Sun Screen, etc.
    • Closed toed shoes

    Music/Dance
