The Alumni Council is composed of alumni from across the decades who represent a broad range of interests and perspectives. Members are committed and engaged volunteer leaders for Bates who want to help deepen alumni connections with the college.


Confronting Our History—Justice for Coming Times

The Bates Martin Luther King Jr. Day Planning Committee invites alumni to submit program proposals for the annual MLK Day observance, which will be fully remote in 2021. This could be a lecture, panel discussion, art installation, performance, or any other creative idea.

Learn more about the January 18 observance, and submit your proposal by October 21.

Bates Reaccreditation

As part of the reaccreditation process, Bates will undergo a comprehensive evaluation/virtual visit November 8-11 by a team representing the New England Commission of Higher Education. The Bates community is invited to learn more and submit comments.

This year, your contributions helped Bates stay true to its mission and values even as it faced the challenges of a global pandemic. Whether for financial aid or flights home in March, your support has meant so much this year.
