Recruiting beyond Bates
The Bates Career Development Center works closely with employers to connect with Bates students off campus. Please call our office for more information on these additional ways to reach out to students.
Bates, Bowdoin and Colby collaboration
Maine is off the beaten path a bit. Bates works with Colby and Bowdoin on collaborative events so that employers can make the most of a trip to Maine. Recruiters develop a customized schedule of information sessions and interviews. Some employers visit each school on a combined trip, while others work with us to host an event at Bates, for example, and invite Colby and Bowdoin students to attend.
Liberal Arts Recruiting Connection (LARC), Boston
Seniors from Bates, Colby, Connecticut, Holy Cross, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Trinity and Union Colleges have the opportunity to interview and participate in a job fair with recruiters from Boston and the New England area. LARC is typically held the first Friday in November. Contact the BCDC for more information.
Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN)
LACN is a consortium of liberal arts colleges from around the country that maintains a job and internship database to allow you to reach 70,000 students at more than 30 highly selective, small, private liberal arts colleges. There is no cost to you to post a job with LACN, and we are happy to post to LACN’s database when you post your job with Bates.
The Maine College Career Consortium provides an on-line database to all of the colleges and universities in Maine. Students and alumni will have the opportunity to search the participating employers for careers or internships in their field of interest. Employers post to all 24 Maine colleges and universities at no cost. To post a job with The Maine College Career Consortium click here.
