Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Bates College launched the Bates Campaign – the largest fundraising endeavor in our history — that will strengthen the institution for decades to come. The Office of Donor Relations exists to advance Bates’ fundraising efforts by fostering a culture of donor-centric stewardship and relationship building throughout the institution. 

The Donor Relations intern is responsible for data entry, large mailings, writing thank you’s, research projects, administrative event support, and will have the opportunity to staff local events. If you are a detail-oriented and highly organized person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, this is the perfect role for you! 

 

Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Data entry
  • Assembly of large mailings
  • Event support
  • Research projects
  • Writing donor thank you’s and creating video content for donors
  • Filing, photocopying, scanning

Requirements


The donor relations intern should have experience in administrative office work and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail are required, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in working with confidential information. Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred. The environment is an open, shared office space. Machines used include photocopier, computer, telephone, and scanner.
