Student Affairs is here to help you. Sometimes that means giving you the answer; other times it means we’ll direct you to the office or person who can help. If you can’t find what you need our our website, please email studentaffairs@bates.edu and we’ll get you directed to the answers.

Your student support advisor is listed at the top of your degree audit accessed through Garnet Gateway. You can also find your SSA listed in your network on BatesReach

If you have an immediate concern or an emergency (need assistance within minutes/hours), please contact Campus Safety at 207-786-6254, or their emergency line at 207-786-6111. If this is not an immediate emergency (may need assistance within a day or two), please read about the Bates Care Collaborative – they exist just for this purpose. You can use the form on their website to Report a Concern.

Nothing is more important to student success and fulfillment at Bates than the human connections they make here. Technology can’t substitute for those connections, but it can make them easier, which is especially valuable if something’s weighing on your mind. BatesReach is an online tool that makes it easier for students to reach out to their advisors and professors, and vice versa. Information on how to access it and how to use it can be found here for both students and faculty/staff.

All student mail and package delivery is managed by Post & Print. You can find most answers on their FAQ page

EMERGENCY: For a facility related emergency during business hours, please call facilities at 207-786-6449. For an after hours emergency, please call 207-786-6254. 

NON EMERGENCY work requests can be texted or submitted online.

Washer and dryer service is managed by an outside vendor. Information on reporting a service outage can be found on this website, or on the signage in the laundry room.

Information for lost keys and campus IDs can be found on the Campus Safety website.

Parking on campus is managed by Campus Safety and information is available on their website.

As a Bates student, you have the option to vote in Maine, or in  your home state. More information is available through the Harward Center’s website
