Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Bates Magazine Intern will assist in all areas of the production of the College magazine and other alumni print and Web publications. Projects will include writing and researching articles for the magazine and web-based “Faces at Bates” profiles, brainstorming story ideas, interviewing, proofreading, assisting with photography needs, and communicating with graphic designers.

Responsibilities


The Intern will perform some detail-driven clerical duties. Superior written and verbal communication skills are required, as are attention to detail, an inquisitive nature, a curiosity about issues concerning the College, alumni and student life, an interest in people, and a good sense of humor.

Requirements


Must be comfortable using computers (word processing, the web, the college network, database software, some Photoshop), photocopiers, phone, and fax machines
