SA: Health Education Intern (S99817)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Health Education Office seeks a cohort of interns to support health promotion education across the First-Year Experience. Our office understands health and wellness as a multidimensional, lifelong, practice within individuals, the Bates community, and the broader world. We aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills to think critically about their experiences to advance and inform positive wellness decisions that are right for them.

Health Education Interns will develop health-related programming to benefit the Class of 2026, during Orientation and throughout the academic year. Interns will work closely with the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Health Education and the Coordinator of Residence Life for Health Education to identify salient health education topics to present to first-years during Orientation 2022. Interns will also collaborate with Residence Life Student Staff members to create companion health promotion programs for use throughout the academic year.

The 2022 cohort will consist of a small group of students (2-4) to be hired through a selective interview process for paid positions during Short Term 2022. Interns will be paid at the student hourly rate ($12.15/hour), and are projected to work a total of 28-30 hours throughout Short Term, and approximately 8 hours during Orientation 2022.
