This is a production-specific position (vs. an ongoing weekly schedule), and it is imperative that this student be able to commit to the full schedule of technical rehearsals and performances for the production in question. This commitment is likely to add up to more than 20 hours a week during a very limited period of time.
Specific responsibilities may include, but may not be limited to:
Coordinating with the Costume Manager and/or Costume Designer to develop a plan for meeting the production’s Wardrobe needs, Supervising Wardrobe Crew (which may include Dressers, Hair and Makeup, and Costume Stitcher) to coordinate back-stage activities and quick changes, staying for post-rehearsal notes to understand what needs attention, overseeing maintenance and repairs of costumes during the production period.
The Wardrobe Supervisor needs to be organized and self-motivated, with the ability to perform well under pressure. Some background in costuming and theater or dance is preferred.
Reports to the Costume Manager.
