Mascot Team Member (Performer & Handler)

Bates College Athletics is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and creative students to join the Bates Mascot Team. Team members will play a central role in bringing the Bates Bobcat to life at athletic events, campus programs, and community appearances. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new and evolving campus tradition. Mascot Team members will help shape the personality, presence, and impact of the Bates Bobcat while representing the College with energy, professionalism, and pride.

ATH- Cardio Maintenance Assistant

The Cardio Maintenance Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the athletics and recreation operations which includes performing maintenance and cleaning of cardio and fitness equipment.

ATH Club Sport Program Manager

The Program Manager assists in the overall operation of the Bates Club Sports Organization. This role focuses on ensuring Student officers follow policies put forth by the Club Sport Handbook, have the resources they need, and provide a fun, safe, and welcoming experience for all participants. Program Managers not only help train Club Sport Supervisors but also serve as their mentors, offering guidance, feedback, and support. They provide Supervisors with the tools and confidence to succeed in their roles while modeling leadership and professionalism within the Club Sports organization.

Men’s Soccer Team Manager

Assisting the Men’s Soccer coaching staff in all aspects of running a competitive division 3 athletics program.

ATH: Home Events Athletic Event Program Assistant

– The applicant who assumes this position will work closely with the coordinator of home athletic events in order to effectively plan and operate our home athletic contest schedule. – The person who takes this position should be able to work home athletic events on weekends. This person will work most weekends with the following weekend dates considered as non-negotiables in the Fall; September 9, September 16, October 6, 7 & 8, October 21 and the 24th which is a Tuesday.

Assists in daily football practice duties of videotaping and editing for coaches for breakdown and study purposes.

Support the marketing and promotion of athletic events and programs to the campus community. Assist with the creation, organization, and execution of promotional events and contest; distribute print media throughout campus; organize and maintain and marketing schedule; and actively promote athletics throughout campus.  

ATH: Marketing & Promotions Graphic Designer

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Bates College branding standards and Bates Bobcats Athletics Brand Identity Guide. The Equipment Operations Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of Athletic Equipment Operations which includes working in the equipment rooms, staffing the equipment issue window for equipment distribution and collection, perform laundering services, and maintaining inventory. ATH: Team Administrative Assistant

The Team Administrative Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of a varsity sport program and the coaching staff. Responsibilities include office work such as research, mailings, and clerical tasks. Other duties may include practice organization, equipment management, or game film. This position will report to the Head Coach of the assigned team and will work within the scope of the team’s administrative needs.

ATH: Lifeguard

Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of participants utilizing the Tarbell Pool in Merrill Gymnasium. The role is primarily to keep patrons safe while using the pool facility, and require a cool and collected approach with a focus on safety and the client experience.

ATH: Sports Medicine Student Aide

The Sports Medicine Student Aide will be responsible for assisting Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) with day to day tasks as assigned by the supervising ATC. Students will be responsible for the following duties: Work in a healthcare field and facility, while maintaining an expected level of privacy and professionalism CPR/First Aid Field set up and break down Hydration and Ice preparation Cleaning Duties Performing inventories Stocking shelves, taping tables, medical kits, etc. Provide additional eyes and ears for ATC’s during practices and games Sideline recognition of an athlete struggling with heat illness, head injury, etc. Provide first responder support to the sports medicine department as assigned.

ATH: Head Lifeguard

The Head Lifeguard is responsible for coordinating and hiring lifeguards for Tarbell Pool.  This individual must make up a semester schedule for the guards and arrange for guarding at special events at the pool.  The Head Guard is responsible for making sure that guards show up for their shifts and if not, must have a flexible schedule to cover for a missing guard.  The Head Lifeguard is also responsible for reporting accidents and equipment malfunctioning to the Associate Director of Athletics.
